Disc Burner Or Software Not Found On Itunes

I have a Dell Inspiron 530 desktop with a 2.40 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Processor and 4GB Ram running Windows XP Pro SP3.I have iTunes Version 12.0.1.26 (the latest) installed and as with all recent updates get the usual warning message when starting the program - 'the registry settings used by the iTunes drivers for importing and burning CDs and DVDs are missing.' Of course, if I try to burn a playlist I get a message 'disc burner or software not found'.There is no longer any search facility for this forum so could not find any previous answers here (I know it is a common problem) and the Apple support sites primarily mentioned looking for 2 possibly conflicting drivers afs.sys and afs2k.sys and moving them out of the driver folder. Unfortunately, neither of these drives are present in my driver folder.I know there is nothing wrong with my burner as I can burn most other things so am looking for any other possible solutions or work-arounds.

Because I want to keep more free space on drive C as it is my system drive. From the date and time stamp, I can see this iTunes CD Configuration folder was created the same day I upgraded iTunes. Guess the iTunes installer ignores my current custom iTunes installation folder and places the CD Configuration folder in its default location. Is this a bug of the current iTunes installer? Luckily the error message reveals the actual error so we can easily fix the problem.Note that iTunes creates very big backup files.

After I copied the CD configuration folder from my C drive into the iTunes folder on D drive, the above error disappeared.
